Investment

Therapy is an investment in your health, your relationships, your career, and your future.

Investing in yourself today can change the trajectory of your tomorrow.

Therapy is a collaborative process that promotes growth and healing.  Full engagement in therapy can reduce distress, enhance stress management, and ability to cope with problems you encounter.

*Please note that all fees are the same whether the appointment is done via telehealth or in person.

Initial Intake Assessment (75 minutes) - $250

Getting to know you

  • Review of the intake paperwork you completed prior to your session in the client portal.  No more showing up early to complete paperwork.

  • Intake Assessment

  • Custom care coordination at your request.

  • Goal setting to help guide your sessions and meet your presenting needs efficiently.

Individual Therapy Session (55 minutes) - $200

Making progress

  • Your goals will be our main focus because your time is valuable. We will…

  • Explore thought patterns and emotions that create barriers

  • Identify personal strengths

  • Address areas of desired growth

  • Utilize practical strategies to address identified obstacles for you to practice outside of session

The 55-minute session meets the needs of most clients. Extended 75- and 90-minute sessions provide additional flexibility for those who have multiple areas they would like to address, prefer a longer appointment, or schedule sessions less frequently. Together, we’ll determine the format that best fits your preferences, clinical needs, and treatment goals.

Individual Therapy Session (75 minutes) - $250

Individual Therapy Session (90 minutes) - $300

Family/Couple Session (75 minutes ) - $250

For your support

  • I offer family or couple sessions to my individual therapy clients per your request to address simple barriers or other areas to help enhance support in your recovery.

  • Short term (1-3 sessions) if needed to support what you are doing in individual therapy.

  • Primary focus is usually communication, boundaries, and support with your treatment goals in mind.

  • If you have a need for more intensive or long term family/couples therapy, I will be happy to refer you to a therapist who can meet that need while I continue with your individual therapy.

Therapy requires time commitment and financial investment.  When you consider the costs (job, relationships, purpose, identity) of not getting the therapy you desperately need, it makes sense to begin the therapeutic process. Let me help you discover ways to manage whatever life throws at you!

Why I Don't Accept Insurance

Investment: FAQ

Limits Your Choices

Often, insurance companies set limits on the number, length, and type of sessions you may have as well as limiting your choice of providers.  Not having to work within the limitations set by insurance companies gives us the ability to customize therapy to meet your specific needs. Many clients enjoy the freedom of having telehealth sessions online. Some insurance companies do not provide coverage for online therapy.

Requires Psychiatric Diagnosis

Decreased Flexibility

I can consult with you on non-psychiatric issues that are important to you, but may not be billable by insurance. Many of my clients choose to work on professional & personal growth and development, coping with life changes, increasing personal insight, improving interpersonal relationship skills and developing new healthy life skills.

HSA and FSA

Insurance companies require me to render a mental health diagnosis which would become a part of your medical record. For many of my clients, this is neither necessary nor helpful in the process of achieving their goals.

I can also accept Health Savings Accounts and Flexible Spending Accounts which utilize pre-tax earnings to cover medical expenses. It is best to check with your insurance provider first before using HSA or FSA funds, to ensure that therapy will be covered.

Confidentiality

Your insurance company may require more confidential information from the therapist to justify the need for services. Your confidentiality is limited as more personal information is released. Even after receiving more information, the insurance company still may not authorize continued services.

Superbill

I am happy to provide you with documentation, referred to as a "Superbill", that you can submit to your health insurance company.
If your plan covers out-of-network outpatient mental health services, you may be able to get a portion of your session costs reimbursed by your insurance provider.

If your preference is still  to have a therapist that will accept insurance, please feel free to reach out to me. I will be happy to talk with you about your needs and provide some referrals that may be better suited for you and your insurance provider.

Good Faith Estimate

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.

You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit http://www.cms.gov/nosurprises/consumers or call 1-800-985-3059.
